About the role
The primary responsibility of the Pastry Shop Attendant is to accurately handle cash register transactions and ensure guests are greeted cheerfully and prepare food & beverages per guest’s request
What you'll do
- Greet customers at the register and thank customers when they give their order.
- Must be able to maintain and follow Dominique Ansel standards and pass company inspections.
- Must prepare all orders accurately and in a standardized time for food and beverages.
- Must keep the area clean and organized.
- Responsible for proper rotation of stock.
- Responsible for serving food from the display counter as well as handling retail sales.
- Must keep equipment clean and report any maintenance issues to manager.
- Must have a current and valid Health Card and understand the importance of first in first out (FIFO) Health safety and security for customers and employees alike.
- Must have a current and valid TAM Card (Alcohol Beverage Certification) and understand the importance of alcohol awareness and serving responsibly.
- Executes store operations during scheduled shifts. Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned.
- Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team.
- Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Utilizes operational tools to achieve operational excellence during the shift.
- Able to heat food and prep food with use of all outlet equipment and meet all food recipe requirements and standards.
- Prepares food and beverages to standard recipes or customized requests for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients, having knowledge of outlet equipment and their corresponding operating procedures.
- Provides quality beverages and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
- Will need to clean/ bus tables, organize and replenish lobby area, stock shelves and or food products BOH & FOH, put away deliveries, fulfill customer orders, sweep, mop floors, change out trash cans, remove trash for work area and other detailed or deep cleaning duties.
- Provides fast, friendly, professional, and responsive customer service to shop guests and staff.
- Accurately inputs all orders into the POS terminal.
- Accurately posts all transactions on the POS terminal giving correct change
- accounts for all cash, charge and complimentary sales according to established procedure

What you'll bring
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Previous cash handling experience required.
- Work requires attention to detail and accuracy.
- Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
- Work requires use of a computer and/or cash register.
- At least 1 year of related experience
- Previous experience in a similar resort setting
- Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
- Must present a neat and professional appearance.
- Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
- Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
- Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
- Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions repeatedly.
- Visual ability needed to accurately measure ingredients, prepare recipes, or check for cleanliness.
- Requires standing, walking, and lifting a minimum of 60lbs repeatedly.
- High School education or equivalent.
