About the role

A faculty member in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program is expected to fulfill teaching, service, and scholarship

  • Serve on committees within the School of Nursing (SON), Touro University Nevada (TUN) and the community at large
  • Function as student advisors to assigned group of students
  • Attend graduation, school, college, and student functions as required
  • Complete student status forms when appropriate

What you'll do

  • Faculty members assume the responsibility of developing, recommending, and executing the curriculum and all approved policies of instruction.
  • A faculty member in the School of Nursing is responsible for the delivery of a portion of the curriculum for which he/she has suitable education and experience which may include oversight of students in clinical settings.
  • He/she will follow the curriculum as designed and collaborate with key individuals as needed.
  • He/she is expected to assist the University and School of Nursing in meeting academic or related committee
  • All of these duties require that the faculty member remain current in practice through Nursing Science participation in professional development activities.

What you'll bring

  • Doctorate in nursing required, DNP preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse in Nevada or ability to obtain
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience
  • Previous education experience required, DNP education experience preferred Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge base in specialty area(s)
  • A demonstrated ability and desire to teach
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to the growth and development of the DNP program of the School of Nursing and the University
  • Ability to apply nursing science in the clinical setting
