Available shifts

  • Before leaving the test site applicants are scheduled for a 30 minute interview with the psychologist for some time that week.
  • Every effort will be made to
  • the interview the day after the exam for out of state applicants.
  • Applicants should prepare to be flexible with their calendar for the days following the written assessment to accommodate the interview.
  • Academy Selections Candidates who are selected to take the Psychological Suitability Assessment will be considered for selection by Command Leadership.
  • Academy selections are very competitive and based on candidate overall background evaluations and the number of vacancies at that time.
  • Candidate Communication Email will be the primary communication method during the entire recruitment process.

What you'll do

  • Deputy City Marshals perform a variety of duties in the enforcement of state statutes, city ordinances and other city regulations as defined in state statutes and city ordinance on any real property owned, leased or otherwise under the control of the City of Las Vegas.   • Our marshals service an area of 140 square miles and more than 130 city facilities, parks and trails. In addition, in September 2023, a new substation opened at 420 E. Fremont St., Suite 150. The substation is jointly operated by the Department of Public Safety, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Fremont Street Experience security.
  • As sworn officers they may:
  • Enforce local and state traffic laws
  • Pursue individuals observed committing criminal acts
  • Issue citations
  • Arrest individuals pursuant to a warrant
  • Remove abandoned vehicles
