I appreciate the compassion and understanding of the owners. Heart is something they both have. As well and experience.

We brought my 12 year old maltese, Bella, to Paw Wow in May and have nothing but great things to say about the experience. Everything from booking the appointment to picking her up was very smooth and we appreciated all the updates that were sent during the appointment. They said they would go slowly as it was Bella’s first time there so she could be comfortable and they still finished her full grooming in under 2 hours! Not to mention how great the haircut was! We requested a short summer cut and were fine if they ended up having to shave her. They went above and beyond to completely detangle Bella’s tail and made her look very cute with a short haircut. PetSmart usually just shaved her entire body and face, so we are very grateful for the added effort they showed us. Bella was always anxious to get her hair cut at Petsmart and would start shaking as soon as we entered the building and was very anxious even while leaving. When I went to pick Bella up from Paw Wow, she actually seemed happy being there, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how much she seemed to have enjoyed herself. The mom and daughter who run the salon are the sweetest people ever who seem to genuinely love dogs, and we felt very reassured while dropping Bella off for the first time. Also, we needed Bella to be groomed very last minute, and they generously accommodated us and took her in just an hour after calling them, which we are very grateful for. Overall, I would highly recommend Paw Wow to everyone and they deserve more than 5 stars. I’ve truly never met people as kind and who love dogs as much as this family!

Amazing experience at paw wow! First time taking my big Goldendoodle pup to get groomed and paw wow did not disappoint. From his ears down to his nails it was clear they really took their time to get him right and I am soo appreciative for it! Also loved that the majority of the space is closed off for the social pups to free roam and play while they wait to be picked up. Thank you for doing such a great job on my pup Nolo! Will definitely be bringing him back as a regular!

Please avoid this place. I have a small Yorkie who weighs under 10 pounds. I brought him in on Tuesday for a grooming appointment after deciding to try somewhere new. For the last 5 years, I’ve taken him to Hair of the Dog since he was a puppy and never had a single issue. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and felt almost rushed into filling out paperwork. I completed an intake form, but no one asked for vaccination or vet records, even though I brought them with me just in case. I was told the grooming would take around 3 hours. While I was out running errands, I received a text saying my dog had some matting, which I was already aware of, and that there would be an additional fee. I replied that it was completely fine. What happened next completely broke my heart. When I arrived to pick up my dog, he had gauze wrapped around his left leg and was limping. I was told that he had been “moving around a lot.” I understand dogs can be difficult sometimes, but as professional groomers, precautions should be taken to avoid injuring an animal. I was informed that my dog had been cut during the grooming session, and my heart immediately sank. What upset me even more was the response. I never heard an apology. Instead, I was told, “Yeah, it happens.” Excuse me… what? I’ve been taking my dog to Hair of the Dog on Spring Mountain for 5 years and they have NEVER cut him. It genuinely felt careless. I originally wasn’t going to write this review, but now it’s Friday and while petting my dog, I felt a dried scab on his neck—another area where they had apparently nicked him and never bothered to tell me about it. So not only was my dog injured, but they failed to fully disclose everything that happened. I even asked if the tools used on my dog had been properly disinfected to reduce the risk of infection. I asked whether they had been Barbicided, and the employee looked confused and didn’t even know what that meant until I rephrased it and asked if the tools had been disinfected. She then quickly said, “Yes, before, during, and after,” which honestly did not inspire confidence. This experience was heartbreaking. My dog is like my son, and I left that place in tears. Our pets can’t tell us when they’re scared, hurt, or being handled improperly. They rely on us to trust the people caring for them—and after this experience, I would never trust this place with my dog again and you shouldn’t either.
