Chloe was 18+ years old. On Friday, 7/3/26, while we were getting ready for her grooming appointment, she tipped over getting into her bed, let out a cry and stiffened. I scooped her up, cuddled her where she snuggled her head in my chest, talking to her letting her know that the doctor will help her feel better. I headed to my office to look up the in-home vet numbers I gathered in April. I knew then each day was a gift for us.
Calling the first number and not receiving a return call, a friend called and gave me Dr. Toby Goldman's number, who was a referral from our vet, Dr. Chad Bowers at Legacy Animal Hospital. I called Dr. Goldman's office, NV Pet Hospice and spoke to Natalie. I explained the situation, given the holiday weekend, we scheduled Dr. Goldman to come to my home for a 1 PM appointment, his last appointment of the day.
Dr. Goldman walked in, looked at Chloe's long face and eyes and looked at my face. I asked a friend to be at my home for support; I'm so grateful and thankful for her support, she has gone through the same with her pets.
Dr. Goldman is a compassionate, caring, loving and supportive person. He explained the process in detail and while I heard his words, there was a part of me that only took in so much consciously. NV Pet Hospice Aquamation partners with Oceans of Love in San Diego. He explained the process, each step is done gently and respectfully. Saturday evening I read Oceans of Love website. NV Pet Hospice Aquamation and Oceans of Love is a beautiful, loving and respectful way to honor our pets. Chloe will soon be honored with seasonal fresh flowers and an eight-bell nautical farewell. I'll be able to read in real-time the longitude and latitude where she's at peace.
Dr. Goldman left me with a beautiful memory of Chloe--her paw print in clay, which has her dew claw imprinted, a cutting of her medium brown, black and white hair and her sleeping peacefully covered in a little pink and white polka dotted blanket in a basket meant for her size. The comforting memory he left me with is inner peace, having him come to my home was the best decision for Chloe and me.
Since Chloe's passing when speaking to pet parents and non-pet parents, I explained the compassionate, caring and loving experience I had for Chloe. Chloe and I spent 34+ years in the Bay Area before moving to NV. She's come full circle returning to CA.
Thank you, Dr. Goldman and staff for the compassion and support you give every pet parent whose life you've touched. You're truly a gift to all of us.
Losing a beloved pet is devastating, but the compassion and gentleness shown by this team turned our hardest day into a peaceful memory.
Dr Goldman did everything with the utmost sensitivity, treating our goodbye not as a clinical procedure, but with the love and respect a cherished family member deserves. He was incredibly patient and gave us all the time we needed.
The process was entirely painless and gentle. Our sweet boy slipped away so peacefully, surrounded by warmth and dignity.
We take immense comfort in knowing his final moments were free of fear. I highly recommend Dr Goldman and his team for helping us give him a farewell filled with love. Thank you for taking such beautiful care of him and us.

Nevada Pet Hospice helped us say goodbye to our 19-year-old cat Wendy yesterday through an in-home euthanasia. This was actually the second time we've used their services - they helped us with our cat Socrates a couple of years ago as well. We were so grateful that Dr. Toby Goldman, who helped us with Socrates, was available again for Wendy.
From start to finish, the experience was handled with incredible grace and professionalism. The gentle knock at the door, the calm and soothing demeanor, the awareness of our home and our family's emotional state - everything was thoughtful and intentional. We never felt rushed. We felt comforted and supported throughout the entire experience. At the end, we were able to carry Wendy out in a basket ourselves, which meant a lot to us.
It's clear that Nevada Pet Hospice hires people who are deeply caring and empathetic. The level of compassion we've experienced, twice now, isn't something you can fake. If you're facing this difficult decision as a pet owner, please trust that these folks will take care of you and your animal with the utmost respect, empathy, dignity. We can't recommend the service enough.

There are not enough words to express how grateful our family is to Dr. Toby Goldman for the care, compassion, and kindness he showed to our beloved boy, Raskal. Making the decision to say goodbye to a cherished member of our family was one of the most painful and heartbreaking experiences we have ever faced. Raskal was more than just a pet—he was a loyal companion, a source of unconditional love, and a treasured part of our lives. The thought of letting him go felt impossible. From the moment Dr. Goldman stepped in to help us through this difficult journey, he treated both Raskal and our family with extraordinary compassion and respect. He took the time to explain everything, answered our questions with patience, and gave us the comfort and reassurance we needed during one of the hardest moments of our lives. His gentle demeanor, genuine empathy, and professionalism made an unbearable situation a little easier to endure. What meant the most was the dignity and love with which Raskal was treated. Dr. Goldman ensured that Raskal’s final moments were peaceful, comfortable, and filled with the love of those who cared for him most. That gift is something we will never forget.
Although our hearts are broken and we miss Raskal every day, we find comfort in knowing that he was cared for by someone who truly understands the bond between pets and their families. Dr. Goldman helped us navigate our grief with grace and compassion, and for that we will always be thankful.
Thank you, Dr. Goldman, for your kindness, understanding and the exceptional care you provided to our sweet boy, Raskal. You made an incredibly painful goodbye a little less overwhelming, and your compassion will remain in our hearts forever. We are deeply grateful for everything you did for Raskal and for our family. And to Nevada Pet Hospice, our sincere thank you.

Dr. Carolina provided the most compassionate and peaceful in-home euthanasia experience for our beloved dog, Hiro. While saying goodbye was one of the hardest things our family has ever done, her kindness, professionalism, and genuine empathy made an incredibly painful day a little easier to bear.
Dr. Carolina treated Hiro with such tenderness and respect, ensuring he was comfortable and surrounded by love in the place he felt safest—our home. She patiently explained the process, answered our questions, and gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. We never felt rushed, and her calm presence brought so much comfort during an emotional moment.
Losing Hiro has left a hole in our hearts, but we are deeply grateful that his final moments were peaceful, dignified, and filled with love. Dr. Carolina gave us the priceless gift of being able to say goodbye to our sweet boy in the comfort of our home, and we will never forget her compassion.
Thank you, Dr. Carolina, for helping Hiro cross the rainbow bridge with such grace and dignity. We will be forever grateful. ❤️🐾 🌈 👼

On 5/29 I had one of the worst nights I could have imagined. My beautiful baby bird passed away. I was distraught. Looking into other end of life services people were cold, in empathetic. I then in a puddle of tears, found Nevada pet hospice. When I called, crying. They held so much empathy. They offered condolences, kind words and helped me sort through what would be the best course of action. They even allowed me to ask them to take specific feathers to keep before her cremation. When I arrived, they allowed us to do a viewing and hold our baby for one last time before we said goodbye. They were kind and spoke to us with kindness, sharing memories with their own birds, and empathizing with their own experiences of losing a loved pet. While I did not have the opportunity to remember either of the wonderful women who help me names, I want them to know they helped carry my grief. Even if they didn’t know it. They helped me carry my grief long enough to say goodbye. Thank you Nevada Pet Hospice. Thank you for treating her like family, and caring for her in her end.
