Packed Dining Room, Empty Flavors I had really high hopes for CRAFTkitchen after hearing so many good things and seeing it described as a chef-driven breakfast restaurant. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the hype. I arrived on a busy Saturday at 9:53 a.m. Even though the parking lot was full, parking was easy, I didn’t have to walk far, and I was seated immediately at the bar. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere with lots of greenery, comfortable seating, and a clean, modern feel. Despite being packed, it wasn’t overly loud, which I really appreciated. The service started out great. I was greeted right away, given water and a menu immediately, and my drink came quickly. I placed my order around 10:05 a.m., and my food arrived at 10:21 a.m., which I thought was very reasonable for a busy Saturday morning. I ordered the CK Special because I wanted a classic American breakfast. The plate looked delicious, but that’s where the excitement ended. The sausage gravy was extremely salty, while the rest of the breakfast was surprisingly bland. There just wasn’t much flavor anywhere else on the plate to balance it out. I even tried each item separately before mixing everything together because I wanted to taste each component on its own. The smashed potatoes were another disappointment. They were served in huge chunks, and there were far more than I could reasonably eat. I only made it through a couple of them because they simply didn’t have much flavor. They do provide ketchup on the side, but I wanted to judge the potatoes as they were prepared. Toward the end of the meal, the service slowed down. My Coke was served in a fairly small glass, and by the time I was finishing my breakfast it was completely empty. A refill would have made a difference, especially with such a dry meal. My total came to $31.37 before tip, which I thought was a fair price. Unfortunately, the value just wasn’t there because the food itself didn’t impress me. For a restaurant that’s marketed as chef-driven, I expected memorable flavors and better seasoning. Instead, I left feeling underwhelmed. The atmosphere and service made a wonderful first impression, but the food is what brings people back—and sadly, it wasn’t enough for me. I actually stopped at Pinkbox Doughnuts on my way home because I wanted something I’d genuinely enjoy after breakfast. Based on this visit, I wouldn’tbe Interested in returning
