Civic Makers Lab

The right to vote has been at the heart of America’s struggle for democracy—and understanding how that right is protected is essential to civic engagement. In this interactive session, participants will explore the Civil Rights Movement’s fight for voting rights and connect that history to Nevada’s elections today. We’ll break down how Nevada’s voting system works, examine the safeguards designed to protect elections, and discuss challenges to voter access and public trust. Through historical case studies, hands-on activities, and conversation with community experts, participants will leave better equipped to exercise their rights, navigate Nevada’s election system, and help others participate.
