Very beautiful place with all kinds of rescued Birds. Come on down anytime and say hello to our birds and say hello back. Don't poke your fingers through the fences and be very respectful as this is a one-of-a-kind non-profit place

Such an amazing place!! There were so many silly animals I didn't expect to see XD it was so much fun to take my boyfriend and little brother. It was very clean there too and all of the workers/volunteers were so sweet especially Joanna in the front window!

We went to Gilcrease Nature Sanctuary for a birthday party, and it was a great experience. It was nice for the kids to see different kinds of animals and feed certain ones, like the ducks and goats. If you go here during the summer, don't forget to bring a hat, water, sunscreen, and a portable fan! There were many shaded areas for the animals to hang out in, but you will definitely want to be prepared for the heat yourself.

I gave this sanctuary a 3-star rating because of the conditions where some of the parrots, and other birds, are housed. I have a wealth of exotic bird experience, and can honestly say, the cage sizes (in the office area) are inadequate. The parrots are starved for attention, as shown in their behavior when the cage is approached. Several immediately come to the front of the cage, and hang onto the bars, probably in hopes of being adopted. The outdoor animals appear healthy and happy. Most of the enclosures provide enough space. They get plenty of fresh air and sunshine, and are able to lie down in the shade. Each enclosure had water, and some had hay or otherwise where applicable. The pigs are friendly, and crave attention, as displayed when they come to the fence, like down, and allow belly rubs, petting, and all the attention you are willing to give. There is a pleasant outdoor area with picnic benches. Our group of seven came prepared, and had packed lunches. Some of the benches are under trees that provide shade. The girl attending the entry counter was a bit snappy. Bad day? Not the public's fault.
