DESCRIPTION:Family Support Groups are for anyone affected by blood cancer a
 nd are free. There are currently 130 local groups\, with the number of gro
 ups growing each year. Groups generally meet once a month. A credentialed 
 healthcare professional who has extensive oncology and group work experien
 ce facilitates all Family Support Groups. They are prepared to handle sens
 itive issues such as loss\, guilt\, treatment questions and family stresso
 rs.\n\nThe groups are not a replacement for psychotherapy. They're designe
 d to provide mutual support and education to members who may feel a little
  less alone by meeting with others whose situations are similar to their o
 wn. Family Support Groups can be looked at as a coping tool\, in conjuncti
 on with your or a loved one's medical treatment.\n\nFree and open to the p
 ublic. Seating is on a first-come\, first-served basis and may be limited.
